September 2, 2004  - New Authority Board established, and planning began
 
November 15, 2004 - Message Information board installed at the airport.

April 18, 2005 - Airport Tractor Maintenance and Restoration completed.  Maintaining the grass takes a lot of mowing by our volunteers so we restored the tractor.  The top side was painted yellow to help protect our tractor pilots from an air attack.

June 15, 2005  -  Website launched
July 16, 2005 - Hired Huddleston Land surveying, to survey the property including a centerline profile for the runway.

July 25, 2005 -  Launched 1st Annual Labor Day Fireworks Display Benefit on Duck Creek. 
July 25, 2005  -  Survey of airport completed
August 19, 2005 -  The airport will be closed on September 20, 2005. Dirt work will begin and rock delivered to the airport beginning in September 2005.
August 19, 2005 - Friends of the Airport  Donation Drive launched to raise insubstantial donations.  The donations will be used to pay for the new runway.  Our goal is $ 300,000.

September 2, 2005: As of this date 14 Friends of the Airport have pledged $220,000.00 for the new runway.
September 02, 2005:     Received $ 12,316 in fireworks donations
September 4, 2005: Airport Labor Day Fireworks Acclaimed by Spectators as a Spectacular Show.
 

 

 

 
September 22, 2005: Closed Runway.  Mowed to clear for dirt work.  Removed runway lights.

   
October 15, 2005:  Dirt work placed on hold to consider new opportunity for airport.
December 17, 2005: Airport Layout Plan approved.   Click on MASTER PLAN button on home page.  Dirt moving approved to start in early spring.
